Blanche Noyes

Blanche Noyes became the first licensed pilot in Ohio and was a proud daughter of Cleveland. Noyes was an actress pursuing theater/movies when she met her husband — a pilot for the US Airmail and a test pilot. Noyes joined the Air Marking Group of the Bureau of Air Commerce and became the first woman to receive a gold medal from the Commerce Department due to her 35 years of government service promoting air safety.
